Problem:
Hard drive burnout out. Reinstalled new hard drive. Then installed Dell media disk, them the O/S Vista. Drivers and Utilites.
I can't get the laptop to connect wirelessly. It does not show the wireless icon in the tray. It will connect though modem with cable.
I have been to the Dell site and downloaded the wireless WLAN card utility and installed it. In control panel right clicking on the Wireless configuration and doing diagnostics it fails all tests and error message reads
'The WLAN IEEE 802.11 wireless networking hardware is not functioning properly. Please contact your hardware provider'. www.dell.com
Does the message mean the wireless has failed on the motherboard?
Is there anyway to fix it ?
